What up Hiero peops'. It Pep Lava again. Out here in San Luis Obispo. Second day/night of the tour. Just rollin up a spliff. Yes I do smoke marijuana your honor.
Sometimes I wonder is there anybody out there? You know like listening, reading, agreeing, or disagreeing. Is there anybody out there who actually gives a flying flip. I don't want to be too specific about what or who it is that they should care about but I bet some of you guys know what I'm talking about. You know the feeling of isolated desire to connect with like minds. Or maybe its just me. I'm not afraid of the that possibility any more. Whatever the case, I would like to see. So in the coming days months years everyone should look foward to more of me. Because at first I wanted to refine my whole self theory before I presented it to the world, but now I'm pretty much resigned to just use "putting myself out there" as the process of refinement. If you understand what I mean. I don't only mean with my music. I mean in life, in relationships, in all forms of self expression. You have be yourself to know yourself. You can only be yourself by expressing yourself. In so many ways.
This tour is going to be interesting and different for me, but I am going to ride the wave baby. Right into green lush shores. One love to UnJust for getting those West Coast Hustle Tour dates up on the site, definately needed that. The world needs hip hop. Hip Hop needs Hieroglyphics, and I am both. Can I get a witness... Is anyone else out there???
fight fans.

I know there is something else that I'm supposed to be doing since the Colli Buddz west coast hustle tour is starting TOMORROW... But I had to take a brief moment to write about my favorite sport. Boxing. Anyone who knows me knows that I fucking love boxing. And I believe that this is a very exciting time for boxing fans out there. Never mind Dana White and the UFC's marketing ploy that Boxing is a dieing sport. Because if you pay attention you'll notice that every time there is a major boxing event the UFC makes sure that they piggy back on it with a major mma event of there own. I love mma but I don't think that it really poses a threat to boxings popularity. I watch both, but am more of a boxing fan. Its just more exciting to me. Anywaaaay... To my surprise Paul Williams punished Winky Wright in a 12 round unanimous decision. This was a fight that equally suprisingly I heard and read was quite exciting. I'm surprised because I thought Winky's defense and his jab would frustrate Williams and that the ladder's strategy would crumble. I'm also surprised because assuming Winky would win I also assumed that it would be a boring fight. I was wrong. This is why I love this sport so much, because you really never know what will happen when two elite fighters get in the ring with each other.
We also have Jermain Taylor vs. Carl Froch coming up for the WBA super middleweight championship in a couple of weeks. I'm really hoping to see Taylor regain a title and redefine his dominance as a super middleweight. From what I've seen of Froch; he really doesn't have anything special and Taylor really doesn't have any business losing to him. Stamina and strategy are the only question marks for Taylor in this fight for me. He has the heart, skills, and speed. But will he start backing up too much? Will he not use his left jab as much as he should? Will he put this guy away if he has him hurt? Will he come in there to wound up and not relaxed enough to maintain his stamina? Will he be aggressive and stay on top of this guy instead of waiting and trying to counter? What decisions will he choose to make in the ring is the real question? Jermain Taylor needs to come into this fight as a fighter who has learned his lessons from his past experiences in the ring to answer all of these questions in a way that will lead to a victory and another title. I think Taylor can win even if he doesn't answer all of these questions correctly, but thats not the kind of victory he needs at this point in his career. He needs a dominant victory that shows all of his critics that he has learned from some of his past mistakes that culminated eventually in him losing his middle weight titles. He needs to show that he has learned to make those right choices throughout the course of a fight and win in the fashion his talent and skill shows us fans that he always should have been winning. He needs a victory that cannot be easily critiqued.
In Pacquiao vs. Hatton, unlike most I do not have a pick for this fight. This is not a slam dunk victory for Pacquiao by any means. Hatton will be all over him like white on rice(no pun intened), and we will have to see how Pacquiao deals with it. Pacquiao will be throwing lots of punches and his defense will be good, and we will have to see how Hatton deals with that. I wouldn't put any money on this fight.
I love what Roy Jones Jr. is doing right now. He is fighting. He's taking lots of fights and he is doing now what he should've done before he faced a fighter like Joe Calzaghe.
I think Antonio Margarito should be given a hearing where he can have a chance to talk and explain what happened and why he should be given another chance to fight in the U.S. He should explain how he knows that his gloves were not loaded in the title fight against Miguel Cotto. I want to hear him explain. This is too big to just let it be a question mark forever. Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be back soon and I hope he fights Marquez. Thats the fight I want to see. But we'll see. Alright this is getting really long and I got things to do. So I'll holla...
I've never...

Written a blog in my fuckin' life. First time for everything so here we go. I kind of felt like writing blogs was not something for me because it kind of seems like a diary that you tell lies in just cause you know the whole world could possibly read it. But thats cool because there is no real pressure to be candid and true when you are painting a view for the world of yourself as you paint your world view in art/music so why not in a blog. We are all living in the fabricated reality television era any way.
How many people out there hopped up out of the bed and immediately turned thier swag on this morning? I don't think Souljah Boy has much in the way of creative merit but that song does put a smile on my face at times. "Took a look in the mirror said wassup."
It seems like everybody wants to tell you what it is and isn't about anymore nowadays. The internet seems to have turned many laymen into overnight experts about myriad subjects. But it seems that the main one is how your supposed to market your music and it seems that the final point is that you cannot sell your music anymore because of the internet. "People do this now." "People don't do that anymore." Word.? What do you do? What don't you do? How are you innovating your craft? I hope you're not telling me that creative/artistic innovation has given way to technological advancement. This is not so. The hip in hip hop used to mean fresh and cutting edge, but it flipped and now seems to mean something more akin to a fad or trendy. Thats where this term "hipster" seems to derive from. Anyhow. This is my blog. My rant, or whatever you want to call it. But it is my first. I'll be back. Peace to the Hiero nation. We growin' stronger as the day grows longer. Love is Love. Supreme. I'll see ya out in the ether.
