Calicomm 2009

In support of "Montezuma's Revenge" the Souls of Mischief will be embarking on Calicomm 2009 in the month of October and hitting up Europe in November! This tour will be headlined by the Souls of Mischief but I personally was wondering who Y'ALL would like to see come out with us. Some names that have been thrown into the hat:
Common Market
Blu
Cunninglynguists
(As a side note, G&E have just completed a run in similar areas, that was one of my choices).
Your input is very valuable to me. If you can, please spread the word on other sites and message boards. I want this tour to make everyone happy to be Hip Hoppers!

I'm pretty excited right now. DJ Toure located a DAT machine (remember those?) and we were able to drag the long lost Souls of Mischief "Focus" album (The version with "We Intersect" on it) master onto CD! I will be turning it in for a digital-only release soon so all (okay both) of y'all who have been asking can get the record for your listening pleasure in full digital quality. Check for it in a while, it will be in both the Hiero Digital store and on iTunes, etc. I will try to put Maximize Third Eyes on there as a bonus if the sound quality matches!
Hiero Release Dates

I have seen a lot of talk on the hoopla about missed release dates, waiting forever for albums and my most hated action: "Over-promising" and "Under-delivering." While I agree with MOST of what our fans are saying I must add that we are perfectionists with our music and do not want to just throw out material so that we can have something out. I personally believe that this is the main problem with indie Hip Hop. Many artists will put out albums of outtakes, mix-tapes with regurgitated verses etc. in order to appease the market. What this does is exactly the opposite of pleasing loyal fans; it makes the market flooded with mediocre material. Hiero is not in the business of rushing releases to meet market timelines and goals. We are not into putting out half-assed material that is unfinished, unmixed, or unmastered. In the case of the "Oldies" series, we decided after many years to release music that had been floating around on miscellaneous tapes, illegal download sites, etc. so that we could give our fans what they wanted all in one cohesive package. We are not in this business to take advantage of those who love us. I want some new material too, but if we do not set it up right in the current climate (with videos, tours, press, etc.) then we will doom ourselves to careers full of disappointment and obscurity. This is not and has never been our destiny. To those of you who have remained patient, INFINITE thanks and we hope that you are pleased with what we have been painstakingly preparing.
